BEFORE the Interview
Days prior
· Make sure to add your appointment & reminder date/time to your calendar
· Make sure your website(s) and social media channel(s) are up-to-date
· Review the outline we share with you to see if there is something else you want to add?
· Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Linkedin to help amplify your message
· Test Anchor application to ensure it is working for you prior to the recording
Prep your recording “studio”
· Select your recording space, make sure you will be in a quiet place where you will not be uninterrupted
· We will connect with you via telephone call. We will use this time to introduce ourselves to one another and troubleshoot and computer/audio issues.
· We will record the podcast episode through Anchor. You will be provided instructions on what you need to do, (press a button! Lol) this during our initial meet.
· A quality microphone and headset such as the Mpow HC6 USB Headset with Microphone is a must. Another great option is the highly affordable MAONO USB lavalier microphone.
· As a last resort, a pair of Apple AirPods or the standard Apple headphones usually work well
Hours prior
· Please make sure your battery is charged, connected to headset, and on silent
· If you are running late, please text one of us!
· Be in a quiet place for the interview, no background noise.
· Please make sure your battery is charged, connected to headset, and on silent
· Tell others nearby that you are recording in order to minimize their interruptions
· Silence your computer’s notifications
· Use a hard-wired internet connection (Ethernet cable) instead of a Wi-Fi connection, if possible.
· Have your outline up so you can read notes in there as we might have an important point to bring up on something you say
DURING the Interview
Show Sequence – (the interview should take about 45 minutes)
There will be a link sent to you via text or email at the time/date we set up for the recording.
Know this is about having fun and if you make a mistake NOT a big deal! Besides with your permission, we can use it on a blooper reel at the end of the year!
Our recordings are in segments where we will hang up at the end of each segment
Be prepared to answer a couple of things:
· Social Media channels for people to follow you
· Important ideas or concepts on the topic we will discuss
At the end of the interview I will thank you and end the recording, but please don’t hang up.
AFTER the Interview
· We will send you a link to the show’s recording within a couple of weeks (depending on editing and other episodes waiting to air).
· You will receive all the details when the show is live, including links to the show, instructions on how to embed the player into your own site, how to share on your social media and more.
· Follow us on Social Media and to find your podcast or others go here: https://www.stateofready.com/Podcasts
Please recommend other Guests who are as awesome as you are for me to interview!
